Origins and development

A presentation of SOS Proteus project results at Kranj Town Library on 20 January 2015 preceded the numbered meetings. The first meeting focused on monitoring and practical conservation; the second on black proteus, 30 years after its discovery. The 2018 meeting marked 250 years since the species’ scientific description. The planned 2020 meeting was cancelled during the pandemic, and the fourth edition followed in 2022.
